You are cordially invited to participate in the 4th Annual Ironman Invitational, a small, competitive meet planned for Thursday, May 5th 2011. This meet will be held at Ramapo College in Mahwah, NJ with events starting at 3:30 PM and the facility at Ramapo College is TOP NOTCH! We are considering adding a few new events this year, including a (possible) exhibition steeplechase, a "football 40" (hosted by the Sports and Conditioning Institute at Ultimate Sports America), a throwers 4x100m race and even a decathlon/heptathlon is being discussed if there is interest!!! We will also provide music, announcing, high-quality awards and all the "bells and whistles" of a top-flight meet. Dyestat will be on-site, and the Nike East Running Van will make an appearance as well with giveaways, shoe trials, gait analysis and much more!

We are limiting the field to approximately 12 full boys teams and at least 6 full girls teams on a "first come, first served" basis, to ensure a quick, competitive meet with no "watered-down" events. We are looking for teams which can fill out the entire order of events with competitive athletes/relays, with at least one individual per team meeting the predetermined "qualifying standards" listed on the order of events. We will also accept individuals in all events on a limited basis, but they must have met the standards and have verifiable performances. We have decided to eliminate the team scoring, however, in the interest of letting coaches, teams and athletes focus solely on fast times and good performances and not running multiple events just to score points.

This meet will be open to anyone in the Northeast, which should afford us the opportunity to put together a quality field! We have applied for sanctions for schools from NY, and will do so for CT & PA if there is interest. We have created a unique lineup of events, with both individual and relay events to be contested, in order to boost interest as well as provide for athletes to compete in seldom-offered races, and to possibly post qualifying times for the Nike Outdoor Nationals in June. The date selected also offers many athletes and teams, especially Sophomores and Juniors taking the SAT test on 5/7/11 the chance to compete on a weekend they might otherwise have to skip.
